My five winter skin savers.
I've got opinions. And most of those opinions can be summed up in lists of five (I'm guessing). So here we are in my first "My Five" post where I talk about five things from various categories that I'm vibing with at the moment. Why? I don't know why. Just roll with me here. For the first post in this new and exciting (I said roll with me) series, I'm bringing you ways to save your skin this winter. Yes, I think winter is actually on its way despite random 70 degree days in New York lately. Keep these essentials from Mankind in your cabinet and you'll be way less flaky. As in your skin. I can't speak on your shady social commitments.
1. START WITH THE FACE.
Don't be looking red in the face (literally). Start with a facial moisturizer with an SPF cause the sun is still the sun, winter or not. This one from Clinique carries SPF 21, soothes razor burn, and is really lightweight.
2. CAN'T IGNORE THE LIPS.
If you don't find a chapstick in the pocket of every coat you own, you're not doing winter right. Between the constant coffees and strong winds, your lips need constant hydration. Jack Black gives you that plus SPF 25. Win/win.
3. MASK IT UP.
You're gonna look creepy af when you wear this Starskin mask, so go ahead and snapchat that, but then afterwards, snapchat your actual face cause you're gonna look like a million bucks and your skin will definitely thank you.
4. NOW GET THOSE HANDS.
The next step is the hands. This hand lotion from Anthony gets it right: "Rough hands. It's a touchy subject." Yeah, as in no one wants to touch you if your hands are rough as shit.
5. I'M NOT DONE WITH THE HANDS.
Seriously maybe it's just me, but my cuticles suck in the winter. Cracking and bleeding randomly; it's not a good look. This cuticle creme from Burt's Bees (hello, $8) is a must IMO.
